My story…

Hi, I’m Gina, the founder of Desert Gal Desserts. After being laid off from my technology job, I realized there is more to life than back-to-back meetings, unachievable deadlines and long commutes. I decided to gift myself a year off from work to pursue my true passion - making people happy through beautiful and tasty desserts.

While researching cakes and cupcakes for my own wedding, I became inspired by the elegant floral buttercream designs I came across. What started as a hobby, soon became a passion. I began making floral cupcakes for my friends and expanded into succulents as a nod to my new desert life in La Quinta, CA. I graduated top of the accredited Rouxbe Cake Baking and Decorating School and Ecole Chocolat Chocolatier Program and decided to turn my passion into a business. I am now a licensed and fully permitted baker!
